After you cross through a meadow and see a little wooden house, we were advised to cross the river on a little log bridge and walk along the other side of the river where it is less muddy. There are county, state and federal marine protected areas off the coast of Washington.The state marine reserves are managed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife; aquatic reserves are managed by the Washington Department of Natural Resources, and marine state parks are managed by Washington State Parks.
