The rim widths differ a bit depending on the tire manufacturer and type. BFG and Hoosier recommend 11-12" width for that size tire. Khumo says 10.5-12.5" for their V700 (specs from tirerack.com)

I don't like nascar either, but I think a Ford 8.8 or 9" rear will still be your best bang for the buck.

grannys speed shop makes a whole fabbed rear end with the 8.8 shortened with chromolly axles, auburn ring and pinion, big wheel studs, detroit locker, and everything to fab it directly bolt-on to the car for 3000.00

They also sell it a diy kit for 1000. But then youd have to buy the axles and all the other shit or else youd be using 2 ford ranger passanger side axles, and i dont want ford ranger axles.

http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=22

thats the kit off a newer gto. It looks like it may be better to just get the unit and the brackets though. the rest of it is useless. The intercooler setup looks like you could make something with an ebay intercooler just as easy and make it look better. I dont know if thats too much surface area to flow though. a D1 is a pretty big pro charger if i remember correctly.

It looks pretty dumbass as far as how its setup, but the dudes car makes 563 at the wheels, so im sure it works fine.

Does anyone know if you can get volk wheels in any wider than 10? Id like to get some anodized black ce28n's 18x10 +18 and 18x11+18. mmm

285/40R17 26 '' tall kumho ecsturd mx right now. and it looks like i have room to play by the fender so worst case i can get a spacer if it ends up being too close to the spring.

295/45R17 27.2'' tall mickey thompson et street radial is what im looking at.

ive been researching alot on ls1 tech and alot of people seem to believe the 35 series 315 35 17 tire mickey thompson makes causes a lot more chances for wheel hop due to the extremely small sidewall.

id assume with this and that solid axle rear end, i could put the power down big time. Maybe even enough to put some silverado manifolds turned backwards, a cross pipe, and a pt88 on it.haha

more to come soon.

interior is totally stripped now. pulled out the blower motor and all that trash along with most of the fusebox and vents in the dash. Since no one has bid on my wheels, i think im just going to buy spacers for the front and spraypaint them satin black also....? I think they look mean silver covered in brake dust 24/7 but something tells me if they were satin then the whole car would look like the apocalypse coming down the street.

what do you guys think about this rear diffuser? ignore the wing whether its got a purpose or not.

Hard to tell from the pic, but does it prevent airflow up under the bumper?

I'm going to try to fab up some under panels for my 50 MPG EK sedan. This article inspired me:

Modifying Under-Car Airflow, Part 1

Modifying Under-Car Airflow, Part 2

It covers making a front under-panel but the idea can be pretty easily applied to a rear on as well.

I need to find a local source for ABS sheets. Plan B is to buy some from McMaster Carr.

yes it does. it has a flat panel that attaches to the floor board in the trunk. Only issue i see is, its not designed for my hillbilly nascar rear end im thinking about getting. Most of the kits for the fc make the rear end look absurd. I like the origin front and sides, well the sides are a bit on the big side, but i can make do with them. The rear though, looks like shit.

Cosmetic is whatever though, i need to finish this civic and get some mod money for this hearse.

just use aluminum.
it's easier to work with and cheaper than ABS sheeting (and prolly more durable for a street car as well).

plus if you happen to slice a raccoon/hedgehog/roadrunner/ostrich like a potato chip, you can replace it for fairly low cost.

i got a price in town today for a 40x30 inch 11 gauge aluminum sheet.

87.00

I think im just gonna gank this road construction sign by my work in my dads truck, and flip it upside down. have a neat story to tell or a laugh when anyone gets inside and looks up to see road construction ahead. haha

I could get another extra for a splitter and diffuser also. It would have to be like an exit sign though.. but they are redoing the highway now so theres a pile of them. haha

Prolly have to paint them black inside tho honestly, i dont want to get pulled over and have that discovered.

If i make one, im sharpening it though, that way i can take out riceboy ankles when they come up all curious like lurkin it and what not.

I get .40 a pound for cast alum, but all steel/iron must be removed.

You ever get drunk and stoned and then try to get the iron sleeves out of a D16Z6????

Very comical!!!!!!

Esp. when the head of the hammer flew off and into the wall. Colt, I think it was the weekend you stopped by the old house
